The Proposal
Last fall, while on an extended visit to Lake Lugano, Switzerland, we took a mini-excursion to Paris on a whim. Despite the considerable efforts by the family to take Fran to get her nails done, we arrived polish-free and designed a Tour-de-Paris pub crawl after a frightening/exhilarating attempted mugging in the metro. Don’t mess with Giuseppe!
The three blissful days that followed exploring the city streets and art galleries was enough to plaster a permanent smile on our lips. Lying out in the grassy lawn beneath the Eiffel Tower at sunset drinking overpriced beers seemed like a global nomad’s heaven already, but when Giuseppe asked a small family from the Philippines to help us with an extra special photo, Fran was (maybe for the first time ever) speechless.
Down on one knee, Giuseppe didn’t need the words to know Fran’s answer - YES! An eruption of cheers from our fellow lawn tenants surrounded us and we spent those precious minutes of ecstasy wrapped up in a comfortable, all-knowing hug. The sun set on the happiest day of our lives thus far and we christened the night at the champagne bar at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

The Wedding in Perú
The Wedding in Perú
Giuseppe was born and raised in a small coastal town at the top of a peninsula appropriately named, La Punta or “The Point.” Just two blocks wide at it’s most narrow point, La Punta lies wrapped in an old world charm full of simplicity, nature and community.
Spending the day sailing with Papapa, fishing below the impressive cliffs of Isa San Lorenzo, or strolling the boardwalk to the Coloseo where Giuseppe’s Olympic portrait proudly hangs are some of our favorite pastimes. To celebrate our wedding, we want to show the people we love just how special this place really is.
We will say our vows in the same Catholic Church where Giuseppe’s Mother and Father said theirs and his Grandmother and Grandfather before them. In an ever-changing world, we believe that some sacred traditions are worth keeping.
