Visiting Peru is a magical experience; this is a country full of history, extravagances, beautiful landscapes and the best food in the world!

Beyond the surreal Inca civilizations dotting the peaks of the Andes, Peru has 84 of the 103 existing ecosystems and 28 of the 32 climates on the planet, making the country the most ecologically diverse in the world.

We give you full permission to make the most of this invitation and Explore Peru.  Go see one of the 7 Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu.  Go fall in love with this amazing country where we have hiked, surfed, sand-boarded, and sailed together during some of the best days of our lives.  We’ll be waiting for you in Lima with a Thanksgiving finale ceviche feast.

Lima, Perú

There are several Airline carriers with direct flights to Lima from around the United States.

Airport Transportation:

Your hotel can easily include this service and we highly recommend an airport pickup pre-arranged.  If not, hop on the Airport Wifi and use Uber, Cabify or Taxi Beat or organize a "Green Taxi" before you leave the airport.

Getting from the airport to Miraflores can range between $20.00 - $50.00.

Metered taxis are non-existent in Peru so plan on negotiating before jumping into a regular cab on the street.  To avoid overcharges, the following companies are your best option:

Do I need a Visa to travel to Peru?

No! For U.S. citizens, you just need your passport.

If you are traveling to the jungle in the north of the country, you will probably need some booster shots for yellow fever and malaria.

Cuzco and the rest of Peru is arid enough to not need this, even if you're planning the trek to Macchu Picchu.

Check the CDC Website for more information.

November is almost summer season in Lima.  However, Lima is a coastal city so expect breezes and bring a jacket for the evening!

Health & Safety:

Perú is a stable, safe country that offers some of the world’s most impressive wonders.  But in case you haven’t traveled outside the United States in a while, here are a few pointers to make this trip a success:

  • Besides your wedding rings, please leave your expensive jewelry at home.

  • Make copies of your passport, carry one copy in your wallet and save a copy in your email.

  • When walking on busy streets, keep your purse securely on your shoulder and if possible, not showcased to oncoming traffic.

  • Inside of taxis, keep your valuables out of reach from the window.

  • For drinking water, use only bottled water. 👍🏽
